Hi,

I have a question about the uplink/downlink limitation of the dev portal : "Fair use policy applies, limited downlink and uplink capacity (average 6 uplink/hour, 2 downlink/hour)"

1 - The limit of 6 uplink/2 donwlink / hour is per device or for all my 10 max devices ?

2 - The documentation say that ack messages are considered as downlink.
So, If my device send a confirmed message to the LoRa network and 1 downlink message is available on KPN what is the result ? 1 or 2 downlink message consumed ?

3 - If there are several downlink messages on KPN, I can only read one by one so : send a data to the lora's network, wait the downlink, send another data, wait the second downlink etc. or I will receive all the downlink message in one time ?

Thanks for your help.

Hi @LoRa45,

Welcome to our LoRa Community! 😁

Great choice to place your questions on the forum. In this way, I can help you with your questions but other users can also help you or learn from your questions πŸ˜‰

Below are the answers to your questions:

1 - The limit of 6 uplink/2 donwlink / hour is per device or for all my 10 max devices ?

For downlink messages there is a limit of 3 messages per hour. There is no limitation determined for uplink messages. These limitations apply per device

2 - The documentation say that ack messages are considered as downlink.
So, If my device send a confirmed message to the LoRa network and 1 downlink message is available on KPN what is the result ? 1 or 2 downlink message consumed ?

It is correct that we see acknowledgements as a downlink message. This means that if you send a confirmed message to the network, you have consumed 2 downlink messages

3 - If there are several downlink messages on KPN, I can only read one by one so : send a data to the lora's network, wait the downlink, send another data, wait the second downlink etc. or I will receive all the downlink message in one time ?

If there are several downlink messages on the network a queue arises. This means that you can read it one by one

I hope I've answered all your questions. I'm happy to hear if I can help you any further.
Hi,

Thanks for your reply.
Concerning the uplink/downlink limitation, why on the documentation there is "Fair use policy applies, limited downlink and uplink capacity (average 6 uplink/hour, 2 downlink/hour)" ? How I must understandd them ?

Thanks for your help ! ☺️

Hi @LoRa45

I can understand your confusion. When I checked the information on the Developer portal, following your message, I saw these terms. In my opinion this information is not very clear. That's why I reported this and asked for a change.

The limitations I have sent you in my answer are the right terms.
Thanks for all :)

Last question : The downlink message are confirmed or unconfirmed ?

Hi @LoRa45

You're welcome! 😁

The downlink messages on the Developer portal are unconfirmed. But as you also know the Developer portal is for testing. When you are going to use our network and get a subscription the downlink messages (and uplink messages) are confirmed.
Thanks it's for adjust my program for my testing device.
The uplink message can be confirmed with the dev portal of this feature is only with a subsciption ?
