How to know if my device adhers to fair use?

Hello,

I need to send about 300 bytes each hour, with the limit of 51 bytes per frame this can't go in one go.
Now I will need to send about 6 * 64 frames.
This comes down to a full sized request every 10 minutes.

Does this adhere to the fair use policy (0.5s in the air) and how can i calculate this?

Leuk dat je enthousiast bent over LoRa! Als je mij een persoonlijk bericht stuurt met je studieachtergrond en waarnaar je precies op zoek bent in je opdracht dan kunnen we vanaf daar samen verder kijken wat er mogelijk is.

Hi Dion, from my understanding you got that right. The payload (data) can hold max 51 bytes and doesn't include the metadata (header) size. So you are able to use all 51 bytes for your payload data.

De vraag in het engels gesteld, dan hebben meer mensen er wat aan, maar nu ik u toch heb; ik zoek nog een afstudeerstage (richting embedded systems) en ben inmiddels wel fan van LoRa aan het worden.
Heb je een idee of ik daar iemand over kan spreken of kunt u me daar aan helpen?

So in theory - if we had unlimitedly sized frames - the maximum would be a payload of 391. This would result in airtime of 599.30 ms, just bairly falling under the 0.6 s each hour.

There is an online tool available for calculating the airtime (and the duty cycle) of a LoRa message, based on several relevant parameters. This tool can be found here.
