Dear KPN Staff,

I am a senior lecturer at the School of Architecture and Planning, the  University of Auckland, New Zealand.  https://www.creative.auckland.ac.nz/people/architecture/e-teymouri

I am conducting a research project about an analysis of the impact of digital platform (such as zoom and Microsoft Teams) on land use and pattern of city.  I would like to ask you to advise me about access to anonymous data of your network in Amsterdam and if it is possible The Hague. It would be much appreciated if you could help me with the data or advise me about access to data. Thank you very much.

My university email address: e.bahmanteymouri@auckland.ac.nz

Kindest regards,

Elham

Hi and welcome to the KPN forum @Ellie BT

Unfortunately we do not have clear access to this data. I do however have this blog to share, which could provide some insight into this matter.

You'll be able to read it here

Hello @Leroy, Thank you very much for your reply and the useful link! I must explain that it is an inquiry for anonymous data. I am working with Chorus that is an internet provider in New Zealand (https://www.chorus.co.nz) and they have provided aggregate network traffic volume data for 3 cities in New Zeeland (Auckland, Wellington, and Queenstown). The data is at SA2 and SA1 levels by the New Zealand system. In addition, the Australian internet provider company  https://www.nbnco.com.au/ provided data for Sydney and Melbourne for researchers. The data is the big data, the volume of uploading (and downloading), at the scale of a neighbourhood to see how behaviours have changed before, during the Covid lockdown and after it. It is necessary to see how the pattern of land use may change when it is necessary such as in the Covid situation. It seems KPN has not experienced this type of collaboration with researchers and universities. Of course, it should be done through an official agreement with the university system and university lawyers to keep the privacy and the anonymity of your data safe and preserved. It would be great for our research if we can have a conversation with KPN about this. Any advice would be much appreciated. Ellie.

@Ellie BT Your best bet would probably be to reach out to press@kpn.com and hope they'll be able to put you in contact with the right people regarding this data.

Thank you so much @Leroy
